We have switched our CDN provider from Amazon CloudFront to Azure (Verizon Standard).
The reasons for the switch are:
- Verizon CDN supports Brotli compression which CloudFront does not
-
zoomcharts.js
GZIP compression - 235KB
-
zoomcharts.js
Brotli compression - 195KB
- Verizon CDN support HTTP/2 which CloudFront does not.
- Some reports that the CloudFront CDN has been unavailable (though we could not confirm that ourselves).
- CloudFront does not support HTTP OPTIONS call for CORS requests.
The switch should happen without any interruption. However our previous statement holds true - the CDN service is provided without any guarantees and should be used during development and not for production applications.
